CHNA Volunteer Award

At our Fall 2016 AGM, CHNA announced that it would establish a community award to recognize residents who have contributed to our neighbourhood and the well-being of fellow residents. Here are details about the award.

2019 CHNA Volunteer of the Year - Shirley Rayes

For decades Shirley has fearlessly tackled neighbourhood issues and in particular was a champion at buttonholing our mayor when other elected representatives seemed incapable of timely appropriate action. Shirley successfully got action with the city to get 40K on Sherwood Drive.

2018 CHNA Volunteer of the Year - Keith Hobbs

Keith has worked tirelessly to defend and improve our neighbourhood and our community. With a special place in his heart for his beloved Parkdale Ave. Keith has worked with numerous councillors both pre and post amalgamation and has been a key member of the CHNA Planning and Development committee. Keith was honoured with a plaque in recognition of his work at our Spring 2019 AGM.

2017 Inaugural CHNA Volunteer of the Year - Barb Fischer

Barb Fischer has been the lead volunteer for the Fairmont Rink for many years and recently stepped down from this role. Barb had been selected as the inaugural recipient of our community Volunteer Award. 

Congratulations on this honour and thank you for your many hours of volunteering to make our community a better place to live!
