Kenilworth Trial Closure Ends
The City has ended their Trial Closure of Kenilworth and the planters removed today (Nov 1). The following is the City's formal announcement to the community:
"The trial closure of Kenilworth Street at the Kenilworth/Fairmont/Sherwood intersection has concluded and this leg of the intersection has re-opened to vehicular traffic. The City has collected traffic data for nearby streets throughout this trial and, once compiled and analyzed, the findings will be shared on the project webpage.
An important component of the evaluation of this trial is your feedback. An online survey will be conducted in the coming months to capture feedback from the community on their experience throughout this trial. The survey is planned to be advertised through mail-outs from the City and through the Community Association and Councillor’s social media.
The Kenilworth trial closure has been one piece of the overall Sherwood Drive Neighbourhood Traffic Calming Study. City staff are preparing a complete package of recommendations for Sherwood Drive from Carling Avenue to Holland Avenue. This trial will help to determine what kind of modification at the Kenilworth/Fairmont/Sherwood intersection is worth pursuing, or not, as part of the complete package of potential recommendations for Sherwood Drive. Once these recommendations have been prepared, they will be shared with the public and further consultation will be carried out to gain the community’s feedback."
