Luanne Calcutt, Committee Chair- traffic[at]chnaottawa.ca
The CHNA Transportation Committee is concerned with the safety of residents, the integrity of our neighbourhood, and respect for choice of transportation including walking, cycling, and vehicular. The Committee believes that traffic and parking must be consistent with the building of healthy communities and a healthy environment and that disruption to existing and future communities must be minimized.
Current priorities of the CHNA Transportation Committee
· Traffic calming and diversion measures to encourage use of Carling Avenue and to lessen impact of through traffic on residential streets;
· Parking issues related to the streets immediately around the Civic Hospital
· Obtaining a commitment from the City to fund an independent area-wide traffic study in light of recent development and intensification
The Transportation Committee is involved in traffic and safety studies in the broader Kitchissippi Ward as well as in consultations with City staff. The Traffic Committee reports to, and is accountable to, the CHNA. Committee membership is open to all members of the CHNA community.
